WeSouthlake (“we,” “us”) is an independent, editorially maintained directory of family and kids’ activities, classes, and services in and around Southlake, Texas. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep data collection deliberately minimal.
The short version: We don’t sell your data, we don’t run ad-network trackers, and our site analytics are cookieless. The only personal information we collect is what you choose to give us — your email if you subscribe to our newsletter, and whatever you type into our suggestion forms.
What we collect
- Newsletter subscriptions. If you subscribe, we collect your email address (and any name you provide). Our newsletter is delivered by Resend, our email provider, which stores your address and processes it to send you the emails you asked for — including the confirmation email that completes your sign-up. Resend records delivery outcomes — whether a message was delivered, bounced, or reported as spam. We do not use open or click tracking: our emails carry no tracking pixel, and we do not rewrite links to see what you click. Sign-up links may carry a source tag (for example, which page you subscribed from).
- Suggestion & correction forms. When you use “Suggest an update” or suggest a listing, we collect what you submit — the details of your suggestion and, optionally, your email if you want a reply. These submissions are processed by our host and recorded for our editorial team. To block spam, these forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes limited technical signals (not a personal profile) to confirm you’re human.
- Site analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics and Plausible Analytics. Both are cookieless and aggregate — they do not use tracking cookies, do not build a profile of you, and do not follow you across other sites. Plausible also records when a link out to a business’s own website, phone, email, or social account is clicked, so we can tell a business how much interest their listing is getting. That is counted in aggregate and is not tied to you.
- Server logs. Like all websites, our host (Cloudflare) processes standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) to serve and secure the site.
What we don’t do
We do not sell or rent your personal information, run third-party advertising trackers, or use cookies for advertising. We don’t knowingly collect more than what’s described above.
Who processes data for us
- Resend — newsletter delivery, the double opt-in confirmation email, and delivery metrics (no open or click tracking).
- Cloudflare — site hosting, cookieless analytics, and Turnstile spam protection.
- Plausible Analytics — cookieless site and link-click analytics. EU-hosted.
Each has its own privacy practices; we encourage you to review them.
Cookies
We don’t use cookies to track you or serve ads. Turnstile may set a short-lived token solely to verify a form submission.

Children’s privacy
WeSouthlake is about children’s activities but is intended for use by parents and other adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Data retention & security
