Wondercamp runs 15 weekly themed sessions from May 26 through September 4, for toddlers, preschoolers, and school-agers up to 12. Weekly themes range from plants and water to 3D construction, the animal kingdom, and famous artists.

Our take

The Children's Courtyard of Southlake is a full-day center on Corporate Circle, part of the national Learning Care Group family of schools, that has served the area since 2002. It's Texas Rising Star-accredited, the state's quality rating, and covers an unusually wide age span for one center: infants at six weeks all the way through school-age care to 12 years.

The core runs from infant and toddler rooms through preschool and pre-K, full-day (6:30 AM to 6:30 PM), with a Before- and After-School program for older kids and a Wondercamp summer program. A set of paid enrichment programs — Spanish, Grow Fit Yoga, dance and art — is offered on top; ask the director for schedules and pricing. Parents follow the day through the SproutAbout app, which includes live-streaming classroom video.

That age span is the reason to choose it: an infant, a preschooler and a school-age child can all be enrolled at one center, with before- and after-school care for the oldest. It's a chain center rather than an owner-run one, but its director has been with The Children's Courtyard since 2015 and became this school's director in early 2026.

Carroll ISD Connection

The Children's Courtyard describes itself as "serving families in Southlake and the surrounding Carroll ISD communities since 2002," and its address on Corporate Circle sits within the Carroll ISD footprint. Its location page lists the schools it buses to: Walnut Grove, Johnson, Carroll, Rockenbaugh, Old Union and Florence elementary schools, Durham and Eubanks intermediate schools, and Hidden Lakes Elementary. That makes its before- and after-school program a practical link to the district's campuses, though there is no formal Carroll ISD partnership.

Credentials

The Children's Courtyard of Southlake is a facility-based, chain-operated center, Texas-licensed (license #558935) and Texas Rising Star-accredited. Its director, Jennifer Treadwell, has been with The Children's Courtyard since 2015, earned a Child Development Certification and Master Teacher designation while serving as the school's Team Lead, and became director in early 2026. Teachers participate in ongoing training through the year.
