What's offered

A Christian nonprofit performing-arts training program in Keller, spanning acting, voice, dance, musical theatre, comedy improv, and theatre tech. Classes are monthly and grouped by age, from "littles" through adult, and include an all-abilities STAND Heroes track for students with special needs. Beyond classes there are three audition-only performance teams (Stand Up, ages 5–13; Stand Strong, 10–18; Stand Out Select, 14–29) and competitive/travel companies — a UIL One-Act Play team, a homeschool choir, and the Green Room Players musical-theatre troupe. Summer runs day camps and teen intensives June–August (see the Camp fields).

2026 summer camps and teen intensives, all concluded: two three-week teen intensives (Chicago Teen Edition, Hadestown Teen Edition), the School of Rock production camp, and a run of half-day themed day camps from Dr. Seuss through Toy Story, closing with a one-day Encountering God Worship Camp on August 10. Dates and ages for each are in the camp sessions below; the 2027 programme is not posted yet.

Our take

Stand Performing Arts is a Christian nonprofit in Keller, and like the best faith-based studios its beliefs are the organizing principle rather than a footnote — the program is explicit that students are meant to "stand strong in who God made them to be," and that framing runs through the classes as much as the show titles do. Founded in 2005 (originally as KidStand), it trains kids, teens, and adults across acting, voice, dance, musical theatre, comedy improv, and theatre tech.

What makes it more than a class studio is the range of tracks. On one end there's an all-abilities STAND Heroes program for students with special needs and plenty of no-pressure intro classes; on the other, three audition-only performance teams and a genuinely competitive side — a UIL One-Act Play team, a homeschool choir, and a traveling musical-theatre troupe that performs at local and national events. So the same organization serves a first-timer who just wants to try a stage and a committed teen chasing adjudicated competition. If a secular, purely recreational studio is what you're after, this openly Christian environment won't be the fit; if faith-integrated training with a real competitive ceiling is, it's a strong one.

Local Tips

Stand runs out of its own multi-room facility on Keller Parkway — a couple of studios, a theatre, and a recording studio — and the faith emphasis is real and up front, so it's the right first question if that matters either way for your family. Practical notes:

  • Class tuition is monthly and scales with class length, with a one-time registration fee, so you can budget before enrolling.
  • The performance teams are audition-only, so those are a step beyond the open classes.
  • The STAND Heroes track is a rare all-abilities option worth knowing about.

The program is notably homeschool-friendly (there's a homeschool choir and daytime offerings), it's a member of the Live Theatre League of Tarrant County, and summer brings both younger day camps and teen intensives — several of which fill and close early, so plan ahead.

Credentials

Stand Performing Arts was founded by Jessie Beebe, an ordained pastor with a degree in Theatre Education and about twenty-five years in ministry and the performing arts; Beebe previously toured as a host and spokesperson for VeggieTales Live and serves as the organization's board president. Don Beebe is vice president and Shannon Lane is business manager. The organization is a board-governed nonprofit and a member of the Live Theatre League of Tarrant County. Families should ask which instructor leads a specific class or team, as individual class instructors aren't all named in the studio's public materials.
