The annual gym registration fee is $50. Open-enrollment rates:

  • Tumbling — $80/month once a week, $120/month twice a week.
  • Strength and conditioning — $70/month for one class a week, $110/month for two.
  • Specialty classes — $40/month each, as is a team athlete's additional tumbling class.
  • Private lessons — $40 per half hour for one athlete, $60 for two; longer sessions or groups of more than two are priced by the gym office. Private lessons are booked by the month, and the waiting list gets long around school cheer tryout season.
  • Birthday party packages — $325–$450.

A $10 sibling discount applies after the first child on class tuition.

Team monthly tuition is published for the 2026-2027 season, each billed over a stated span rather than year-round:

  • Rejoice, the CheerABILITIES team — $25, billed September 15 through March 2027. The gym states this covers practices, choreography, routine music and a team shirt.

The All Star teams:

  • Joy, the tiny show team — $170, August to March.
  • Dazzle, half year — $215, October to March.
  • STARS — $215, June 2026 to April 2027.
  • Pre Elite — $290, June 2026 to April 2027.
  • Elite Mini — $395, June 2026 to April 2027.
  • Elite Youth/Junior/Senior — $415, June 2026 to April 2027.

Team tuition covers team training, choreography and music, competition entry fees and practice wear, and carries a 50% discount on additional tumbling classes; team siblings get $20 off (Elite, Pre Elite) or $15 (STARS, Dazzle, Joy). Evaluation fees run $25–$100 by program. Uniforms, competition shoes, USASF membership and an optional warm-up jacket are charged separately.

Open-enrollment tumbling classes are grouped by age and skill — Tiny Xtreme (3–5), Mini Xtreme (5–8), Mini Advanced, Beginner and Xtreme (9 and up) — then by progression: Intro BHS, BHS Series, Backs, Layouts and Twist, each with a stated prerequisite (Mini Advanced needs a back walkover; BHS Series a standing back handspring rebound).

  • Specialty classes — body positions, jumps (intro and advanced) and non-team flyer.
  • Strength and conditioning — Tuesday and Thursday.
  • Elite and Pre Elite flyer and team tumbling — restricted to team athletes.
  • Free Placement and Progression sessions — every Monday and Thursday at 6:00 PM; call or drop in.
  • Weekly Open Gym — a cash-only drop-in, Tuesday and Thursday 8:00–9:00 PM and Saturday 10:00–11:00 AM (non-athletes need a release on file).

All Star teams (Joy, Dazzle, STARS, Pre Elite, Elite) are placed through evaluations and run on season-long calendars.

Our take

Spirit Xtreme is an all-star cheer gym: it runs leveled competition teams — Elite and Pre Elite — that place athletes through evaluations, plus a STARS beginner cheer program for younger athletes. Around that sits an open door for kids who aren't (yet) on a team: open-enrollment tumbling and specialty classes in stunting, jumps, and body positions, plus an Open Gym, all bookable with a free trial.

That structure is what makes it worth a look for a cheer family. A younger child can start in a tumbling class or the STARS beginner cheer program, and the competitive-team pathway — Pre Elite as a lower time-and-cost commitment, then full Elite — is laid out clearly for when the interest and the skills line up. The gym also fields Rejoice, a co-ed CheerABILITIES all-star team for athletes with an intellectual or physical disability.

Local Tips

A few practical things worth knowing:

  • Tumbling classes come with a free trial, and Open Gym is open to non-members as long as you sign a medical release.
  • If you're after private lessons, plan ahead — the gym notes a significant waiting list, especially around school cheer tryout season.
  • Rejoice, the CheerABILITIES team, runs occasional "bring a friend" practices, an easy low-pressure way to try it.
  • One thing to confirm before you go: the site hints at a new building opening, so call ahead to check the current location.
Credentials

Walter and Melissa Meriwether own Spirit Xtreme and opened it in August 2004. Walter is listed as a tumbling and team coach, runs the gym's placement and progression evaluations — held Mondays and Thursdays at 6 pm — and is the approval point for team absences. Melissa is listed as a team coach and is the gym's registration and information contact. The gym publishes a full staff roster of about two dozen coaches, with named program leads: Amber Chavez (STARS Director), Jenn Minor (Pre Elite Director), Hannah Mechling (Team Program Administrative Director) and Leroy Sturgis (School and Special Events Director), alongside office staff Christi McCall and Kim Miguel. The CheerABILITIES team is coached by staff the gym says are trained specifically to work with special-needs athletes. Individual coaching certifications are not published.
