Recreational programs run open-enrollment for girls and boys — preschool gymnastics from a parent-tot "Diaper Dare Devils" class (walking–30 months) up through age-graded classes, plus recreational Trampoline & Tumbling. Competitive teams (a girls team, a boys team, and the "Southlake Flyers" trampoline & tumbling team) are governed by USA Gymnastics and place athletes through an evaluation process. Class-schedule times and monthly tuition are managed through the gym's iClassPro portal; free trials are available. Beyond classes, the gym runs day camps and a monthly Saturday-evening Parent Night Out (6:00-10:00 PM, ages 3+ and fully potty-trained), both open to non-members. Contact the gym for current class times.

Our take

Southlake Gymnastics Academy is an artistic-gymnastics gym, not a cheer or tumbling storefront: it runs full girls' and boys' recreational programs plus preschool classes, and it fields competitive teams governed by USA Gymnastics — a girls' team, a boys' team, and a trampoline & tumbling team called the Southlake Flyers.

The range is the point. A toddler can start in a parent-and-child "Diaper Dare Devils" class, a grade-schooler can take rec gymnastics with no intention of competing, and a serious athlete can be evaluated into a team that competes at the state, regional, and national level — the boys' program has put gymnasts on the podium at USA Gymnastics Level 10 Nationals. It's a genuine on-ramp for a sport most kids can't easily find, run by coaches who competed at the collegiate and elite level themselves.

Local Tips

The gym is on Commerce Street in Southlake. A few things worth knowing:

  • Recreational classes are open-enrollment with a free trial, and there's a make-up policy for any missed class if you reserve ahead.
  • Registration and the class schedule run through the iClassPro portal rather than a printed timetable, so plan to set up an account to see current times and tuition.
  • Day camps and Parent Night Out are open to non-members, which makes the gym an easy option even if your child isn't enrolled in a class.
  • Parent Night Out runs most months on a Saturday evening, 6:00 to 10:00, themed differently each time. Two things to check before planning around it: children must be at least 3 and fully potty-trained, and the two gyms hold their own PNO nights on different dates.
  • The family also runs a second location up in Rhome — worth knowing if a class you want is full in Southlake, though it's a real drive. It matters at registration too: the gym's own booking page tells you to select the right location, because Southlake and Rhome events are listed together and the Rhome dates are often the nearer ones on the calendar.
Credentials

The gym is owned by Mark and Missy Seyler. Mark, the boys' team director, was a five-time member of the USA Men's Junior National Team, competed on a full scholarship at the University of Oklahoma, and reached USA Nationals as a Senior Elite. Missy trained and competed at the collegiate level with the OU women's team and has coached since age 15. The boys' coaching staff includes Morgan Seyler (a five-season OU gymnast, 2021 CGA All-American on floor, and 2024 Senior Elite double-mini competitor) and Jack Freeman (OU, a two-time All-American on high bar and 2022 Winter Cup high-bar champion). Missy and Coach Shannon lead the girls' team; Brendan Thompson coaches trampoline & tumbling.
