What's offered

Our take

Rojas School of Music is a family-owned school, founded in 2014 by concert pianist Eduardo Rojas and his wife Stephanie, that has grown to two campuses — in Grapevine and Flower Mound — serving more than 400 students. The core is private one-on-one instruction, booked in 30-, 45-, or 60-minute lessons and scheduled around your week rather than at fixed class times, in person or online. Instruments run a wide range — piano, violin, voice, guitar, clarinet, drums, bass, and more — for students from young children through adults, and all teachers clear a background check.

It is built for a family that wants a real school rather than a single in-home tutor: a full faculty, a range of instruments under one roof, and a path from a first lesson to a public stage. The youngest start with Kindermusik, the early-childhood music program for children from birth to age seven. Beyond private lessons, group play comes through after-school orchestras and Rock & Pop Band sessions, where students learn to perform together, and there are recitals and performance opportunities throughout the year. The first lesson is free, so you can try an instrument and a teacher before committing.

Local Tips

The Grapevine campus is in the Grapevine Towne Center on West State Highway 114, in front of Target — a short drive from Southlake — and there is a second campus in Flower Mound. A few practical notes:

  • Lessons are private and individually scheduled, so you start by requesting a time for your instrument; the first lesson is free.
  • Tuition is a flat monthly rate set by lesson length, billed month-to-month and year-round (the school takes about five weeks off), with a one-time $35 per-family enrollment fee and a 10% sibling discount.
  • In-home lessons are available for an added monthly fee, subject to availability.

Beyond weekly lessons, Kindermusik covers the youngest students, and after-school orchestras and a Rock & Pop band program give kids a way to play in a group, with recitals through the year.

Carroll ISD Connection

Rojas has a direct Carroll ISD tie: it's one of the outside providers the district lists on its Orchestra/Foreign Language enrichment page, running an orchestra program offered through Carroll ISD for its students. Per the district's page, children can start as early as 1st grade — beginning on paper instruments before moving to strings — with a parent information meeting to launch the program and concerts during the year; registration for it runs through Carroll ISD.

Apart from that partnership, Rojas is a family-owned school with studios in Grapevine and Flower Mound, a short drive from Southlake, where it also teaches private lessons across many instruments, in person and online. So a Carroll family has two ways in: the district's orchestra enrichment program, or lessons at the studio. It's an endorsed outside provider working with the district, not a district-run program.
