What's offered

Taekwondo-karate and self-defense classes run Monday through Friday afternoons and evenings, grouped by age and belt: Ninjas (ages 4–5, 30 minutes), Beginner Juniors (ages 6–11, white to gold belts, 45 minutes), Advanced Juniors (ages 6–11, orange through black belts, 45 minutes) and Teens and Adults (50 minutes), plus a 30-minute Leadership & Public Speaking class for juniors, teens and adults. The studio recommends two class days a week. The curriculum covers sparring, forms, board breaking, and weapons across the belt ranks.

Our take

Reveal Martial Arts — which operates as Spicar's Martial Arts — has taught on East Southlake Blvd since 2008, and it's family-run, with sister studios in the Alliance area and in Haslet. It's built for the long haul and for the whole family, from preschoolers through adults, plus a Leadership Program (ages 6+) that layers public-speaking and communication practice on top of the martial arts — something the school ties explicitly to raising confident girls. If you want a casual, low-commitment drop-in, a program this focused on character, belts, and multi-year progression may be more structure than you're after; if you want a well-established neighborhood school with a long track record, that's what this is. Local Tips

The Southlake studio is on East Southlake Blvd (Suite B), on the east side of town — one of three Reveal locations, alongside the Alliance/North Fort Worth and Haslet studios, so make sure you're booking Southlake. A few specifics:

  • The way in is a free first class (wear regular workout clothes and jump in with the other students).
  • The school runs its own in-house tournaments.
  • Birthday parties are a real offering here — about 90 minutes with a katana-sword moment and a real wooden board to break.
  • Summer camps (ages 5–12, roughly 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m. with early drop-off and late pickup) run themed weeks through June and July at the Southlake location.
  • One practical note: class and camp pricing isn't posted online — you request it through the site or ask at the studio.

Its staff page lists Adam Spicar, Owner and Master Instructor, with more than 22 years of experience in Taekwondo, public speaking and leadership development, and Lucie Spicar, Operations Director and Master Instructor, with 22 years teaching Taekwondo.
