What's offered

Weekly training sessions:

  • High-Performance Fitness (speed/agility/strength/conditioning) — Monday-Thursday.
  • Elite Soccer skills — Monday-Tuesday, for players who currently train with a club team.
  • Football Skills — Wednesday-Thursday.
  • Fridays are rental space.

Sessions — small-group and private — are booked through PD1's scheduling app.

PD1 also runs Built 4 Speed, a periodized 8-week speed-and-performance program for athletes ages 8 through 18+ across any sport. Athletes are grouped by age and train two or three times a week, Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday, capped at ten per session:

  • Spring and fall — the 8–10 group trains 5–6 PM, middle school 6–7 PM, high school 7–8 PM.
  • Summer — blocks shift earlier and a college group is added: 8–10 at 5:15, middle school at 4:00, high school at 2:45, college at 1:15.

Saturday drop-ins and Saturday add-on sessions are available to every age group. Each eight-week block opens with a baseline testing week (10- and 20-yard dash, 5-10-5 shuttle, flying sprint), loads through weeks two to six, de-loads in week seven, and closes with a retest, a personalized results card and a live performance event for families.

Our take

PD1 Athletic Training is a youth athletic-performance operation in Southlake, running out of the Built 4 It indoor facility off Highway 114. It's supplemental training, not a team or a rec program: the core is high-performance fitness — speed, agility, strength, and conditioning for youth athletes across any sport — plus sport-specific skills work in soccer and football. The soccer side is explicitly for players who already train with a club team and want to push to the next level, so it's aimed at the committed competitive athlete rather than a beginner. Training runs on a weekly schedule of small-group and private sessions led by certified performance coaches, booked through PD1's own scheduling app. Because it shares the Built 4 It gym — fitness floor and indoor track for conditioning, indoor turf for soccer — it's a training environment more than a facility PD1 owns outright.

Local Tips

A couple of things to know:

  • The soccer program has a prerequisite: it's for kids who already train at least twice a week with a club team, and they ask for your current club affiliation when you inquire — so it isn't an entry point into the sport.
  • The fitness and performance training is more open, aimed at youth athletes in any sport who want to get faster and stronger.
  • Everything is booked through PD1's scheduling app rather than drop-in, and sessions run on set weekday blocks — fitness through the week, soccer and football skills on their own days.
  • It operates inside the Built 4 It gym on Highway 114, which also houses adult fitness and recovery services, and indoor shoes are required on the turf.
Credentials

PD1 Athletic Training's sessions are led by what it describes as certified and highly qualified performance coaches who specialize in youth athletic development, with a stated emphasis on biomechanics, injury prevention, and age-appropriate training. The site does not name individual coaches or list their specific certifications.
