Summer 2026 adds week-long camps (TV/Film, Vocal, Musical Theatre — separate 6–11 and 12-and-up sessions) plus weekly summer classes. On Set Acting Studio is built around a specific bet: that screen acting is its own craft, taught best by people currently doing it. The studio's focus is TV and film — script breakdown, audition technique, self-tapes — and its stated hiring rule is instructors who are still working and auditioning professionally. Its lead coach carries network and Marvel-series credits, and the studio says its students have gone on to a Nickelodeon lead role and representation with Dallas agents. That's the orientation to understand before enrolling: this is audition-and-industry preparation, closer to a pre-professional track than a drama club, though the class ladder starts with foundational acting, improv, and voice-and-movement work that serves any beginner.

The program runs in age bands from 6 up through young adults, on a school-year season plus summer camps, with a genuinely unusual offering tucked into the weekday schedule: a daytime homeschool acting class. Beyond group classes there's a deep private-lesson menu — audition tapings, demo reels, vocal coaching, even college prep — which is where families aiming at real submissions tend to land. It's a small studio with a strong local review record, and the kind of specificity that doesn't exist closer to Southlake.

Credentials

The teaching staff are working performers, which is the studio's core credential. Pierce Bailey, acting for 18 years, has had a recurring role on ABC's "American Crime," appeared as Trevor in Marvel's "The Gifted" on FOX, and recently finished the film "Red 11." Mikki Hankins Petersen brings 20 years of performing, with professional theatre credits at WaterTower Theatre ("Jesus Christ Superstar") and Theatre Arlington ("In The Heights"). Riley Walker holds Belmont University degrees in Theater Performance and Communications with independent-film credits. Deborah Ann Martin, a fourth-generation musician, leads the vocal side, and Maggie Bailey — trained at Dana's Studio of Dance in Southlake and at DFW Performing Arts Conservatory — covers dance and musical-theater technique.
