Credentials

MusicMaker Arts Center (also branded Little MusicMaker) is an independent music and arts school founded in 2001 by Jennea Potter, whose focus is piano pedagogy, music theory, and early-childhood music. Potter chairs the National Guild of Piano Teachers' Southlake centre, serves as co-vice president of student activities for the Fort Worth Music Teachers Association, and was named that association's Precollegiate Teacher of the Year in both 2020 and 2023; she is also an NGPT Hall of Fame teacher. The wider staff's affiliations include the National Guild of Piano Teachers, the American College of Musicians, and the Texas and national Music Teachers Associations, and its students have placed in state music contests. On the theatre side, Mary Ridenour — who teaches voice, piano and musical theatre — won the 2019 DFW Column Award for best leading actress in a musical.
