Class days & times

What's offered

J Tiger runs a distinct schedule at each studio; the two Southlake locations are shown in full below. Both run an after-school program Monday–Friday — daily Tae Kwon Do, homework time and a snack — followed by belt-level classes into the evening and Black Belt Club sessions in weapons, sparring and demo kicks, with Saturday morning Little Tiger and Jr. Tiger classes. At 280 Southlake the Demo Team performs Saturday afternoons, open to non-members. Birthday parties are by appointment at both studios. Additional locations (Trophy Club and North Richland Hills) run their own class schedules — contact the studio to confirm current times.

Our take

J Tiger is a traditional Korean Tae Kwon Do program, and the character side of it isn't just its own marketing: covering the studio's tenth anniversary in 2021, Community Impact described a school whose classes "teach technique as well as character-building." That's the frame here — discipline and respect treated as the real curriculum, taught through the physical skills rather than bolted on beside them. The masters trained and competed at a national level in Korea, and the program is well-reviewed by a large number of local families.

It's built for families who want structure and follow-through over a casual drop-in, and it holds a wide range of ages — programs run from three years old through adult. Each studio is led by a different master, so which location you pick is also which instructor your child gets — worth matching to your kid rather than just to your commute. Start with the free first week; it's the fastest way to see whether the discipline lands as encouragement rather than pressure.

Local Tips

J Tiger's flagship studio is on W Southlake Blvd, a few minutes from Town Square, with more studios at 280 Commerce St, in Trophy Club, and in North Richland Hills — so families can pick the one closest to home, or the master whose room fits their kid. The after-school program is built for working parents: kids are picked up from school, with snack time and supervision running into the early evening, up to 6 pm. New students get a free first week.

Carroll ISD Connection

J Tiger runs a daily after-school program that picks students up directly from Carroll ISD schools (along with Northwest ISD and Westlake), so the studio is woven into a lot of Dragon families' weekday routines rather than just sitting nearby. The program tracks the school calendar - homework time is built into each session, and the studio closes for weather whenever Carroll ISD does. It is a real service relationship through that pickup program rather than a formal curriculum partnership, but for families in the 76092 corridor it functions as an extension of the school day.

Credentials

Grand Master Lee holds a 6th-Dan black belt and majored in Taekwondo at Yong-In University in Korea, where he was a professional demonstration-team member; the Korean Taekwondo organization recognizes him as an expert demonstrator and instructor, and he brings 25+ years of teaching experience, including government self-defense programs, and was named best instructor in New Jersey (2007-2009). The masters include Master Kang - a 6th-degree black belt, head coach of the Hodol Demo Team, and director of the 280 location - and Master Gibong, a Young-In University professional demo-team member and national champion of Korea who heads the HQ program.
