  • Belt Program — the flagship after-school track, a nine-month leveled curriculum (Jr. STEAM Belt for ages 5–7, then Foundation, White, and higher belts).
  • AI Studio — a flexible-enrollment, AI-guided learning path students can join almost any time.
  • Two competitive VEX robotics teams run a nine-month season, 24 August 2026 to 30 April 2027: VEX IQ for ages 7–10 (the VEX IQ game is set for grades 4–8), meeting Fridays 5–7 pm and Saturdays 10 am–12 pm, and VEX V5 for ages 11–14 (grades 6–12), meeting Thursdays 5–7 pm and Saturdays from 12 pm. Teams are kept to four to six students and meet twice a week in two-hour sessions, four hours of instruction a week, with team registration, materials, kit and software access and entry fees for three competitions included.
  • Summer and school-holiday STEM camps run in full- and half-day options.
  • The campus also hosts Bluebonnet Debate's weekly middle-school debate classes for grades 6–8, on Tuesdays from September 1 through November 17. That program is Bluebonnet's rather than iCode's — you register through bluebonnetdebate.com — and iCode families are offered a discount on fall enrollment.

A STEM camp chart is posted, listing mostly one-week sessions plus at least one single-day option (Roblox Creator: Battle Royale): Creative Lab (3D Printing & Design), Roblox Editor (half-day), Digital Photographer, Minecraft: Modding Adventure, Game Master (Construct 3), Roblox Editor: Create and Code Your World, VEX - Robot Squads, Digital DJ (Sonic Pi), and Minecraft Survival — spanning ages 5 to 17 depending on the camp. The chart prints no year and its posted weeks have concluded, so it carries a prior season's schedule rather than the current one. Camps recur through the summer and over school holidays, including Spring Break. Confirm the current season's camps and dates with the campus.

The half-day Roblox Editor camp is $329 per week; the full-day camps are $599 per week.

Our take

Plenty of places will teach a kid to code; iCode's difference is the ladder it puts underneath that. The after-school Belt Program moves students through a nine-month leveled curriculum — earning belts as they go, the way a martial-arts school does — and for kids who catch the bug, there's a genuine competitive path at the top: two VEX robotics teams that design, build, and drive a competition robot across a full August-to-April season and enter real tournaments. That's a real ladder, not a one-and-done intro class.

It's built for a wide age span and a range of intensity. A five-year-old can start in the Jr. STEAM Belt building dexterity and creativity; a middle-schooler ready for a serious challenge can commit to a robotics team with fixed weeknight practices and a season's worth of build time. The rooms are stocked with the hardware kids want to get their hands on — gaming computers, 3D printers, robots, drones — and the instruction is gamified to keep them engaged rather than lectured at. If your child wants to tinker and build and maybe compete, it fits; if you're looking for academic tutoring or homework help, that's not what this is.

The low-risk way in is the free trial class — a taught lesson plus a hands-on activity — which tells you fast whether your kid lights up or shrugs.

Local Tips

iCode's campus is on East Southlake Boulevard. It runs Tuesday through Saturday and is closed Mondays and Sundays, so plan around that — and note the robotics teams practice on fixed weeknights (VEX IQ Fridays plus Saturday mornings, VEX V5 Thursdays plus Saturday afternoons), which is a real weekly commitment from late summer through spring, not a drop-in. Newcomers should use the free trial class as the on-ramp rather than committing to a belt or team sight-unseen. The campus also hosts birthday parties and Girl Scout STEM-badge sessions, and rents classroom space.

Credentials

iCode Southlake is a STEM education campus (franchise location #108); its site does not name an individual owner or lead instructor. Classes are instructor-led and follow iCode's proprietary STEM curriculum, developed and continually updated by the company's team of computer scientists, software architects, and instructional designers, and taught with lab hardware including gaming computers, 3D printers, robotics kits, and drones. The Belt Program pairs each lesson with a reinforcing hands-on activity and sends parents regular progress reports; the VEX robotics teams add structured coaching from instructors while students own the design, build, and competition work.
