The practice is in-network with Cigna and United Healthcare, accepts all PPO plans, and takes DentaQuest Medicaid for eligible families. For costs insurance does not cover, it offers financing through Cherry and CareCredit, or its own interest-free easy-pay plan: half at the time of service and the balance in two payments, with no added fees. No treatment fees are published; call the office with insurance questions.

Our take

Giggles & Grins is set up for the harder visits. Both of its dentists are board-certified pediatric dentists, it runs a dedicated special-needs program for children with sensory sensitivities, mobility issues or developmental needs, and its sedation options run from laughing gas and oral sedation all the way to deep sedation and general anesthesia. When something goes wrong, a call reaches a member of the team rather than an answering service, and the practice offers same-day emergency visits.

The visit itself is built to make kids more independent without leaving parents out. Babies and children under 3 keep a parent with them; older kids are often invited back on their own for the exam and x-rays, and afterward the dentist talks with the parent in a separate consultation room, so a child does not overhear the worries. Treatment happens in an open-bay kids' zone with TVs and tablets, because the practice finds children relax when they can see other kids in the chairs. For families watching costs, it takes DentaQuest Medicaid and runs its own interest-free payment plan.

It is well reviewed on Google by a large number of families.

Local Tips

Giggles & Grins is in Suite 200 at 1480 Corporate Circle in Southlake. The office hours come from the practice's Facebook page, not its website, so call or text the office before you plan a visit around a particular time. A few things that help:

  • Do the forms ahead. New-patient forms are sent digitally, so the first visit can start with your child rather than paperwork.
  • Babies start early. The practice recommends a first visit when the first tooth comes in or by the first birthday, and uses a knee-to-knee exam for the littlest patients.
  • You may be waiting out front. Under-3s keep a parent in the room, but older kids are often taken back alone, and there is a coffee bar with coffee, tea and snacks for parents.
  • In an emergency, call the main number. A person on the team answers, and help is available outside office hours when it's needed.
