Our take

Game Show Studio turns your group into the contestants. A live host runs the show on a studio set with buzzers and lights, with a producer in the room, and teams compete through an hour of rounds modeled on classic TV game shows: a survey showdown, a prize wheel, a price-guessing game and a closing round of quick mini-games. Nobody watches from a seat; everyone plays.

For kids there is a separate show, not a toned-down version of the adult one. The KIDS Edition is built for 6 to 12, with memory, guessing and video-prediction games that need no trivia knowledge, and two adults come along free as team "coaches." That makes it an easy birthday party to hand off; the studio's pitch is that you won't plan a single game. For a younger sibling, the studio asks you to call and talk it through. The Classic show is the all-ages version for families and friends, and a Private Show keeps the whole studio to your group.

It is well reviewed on Google. It also shares a venue with Red Door Escape Room, so a group can pair a game show with an escape room in one trip.

Local Tips

It's in the same suite as Red Door Escape Room on Commerce Street, and the two brands share the venue.

  • Sign the waiver before you go. The Southlake page links it.
  • Arrive 15 minutes early, and send kids to the restroom first. If a child has to leave mid-show, one of your chaperones walks them out and back.
  • Booking same day? For a kids show within 8 hours, call rather than book online.
  • Add booking protection if plans might change. It lets you move or cancel up to 5 days ahead.
  • Groups of 20 or more use the event form rather than the booking app, and catering can be arranged.
Credentials

The Southlake operator is not named. Game Show Studio is a franchise brand whose team says it runs more than 60 entertainment businesses across North America. Each show is run by a live host and an in-room producer, and the brand trains its hosts on the games, the running order and the studio technology.
