Tuition is billed monthly, due the first class of each month, and is set by class length:

  • The studio's current in-person class sheets price three lengths: 1 hour $131/month, 1.5 hours $159, and 2 hours $199. Each includes an annual $150 supply fee in the first payment, which is why those sheets show $281, $309 and $349.
  • Longer 3-hour and 3.5-hour options are priced at $250 and $275 a month, but only on the studio's fee chart, which still shows the older $121 and $149 rates for the shorter classes — confirm the longer options before enrolling.
  • The supply fee is waived if you pay annually.
  • Paying further ahead costs less: quarterly takes 2% off, semi-annual 5%, and paying by cash or check takes a further 3% off. Siblings get 5%, and a referral earns one free class.
  • Birthday art parties are $35 per guest (minimum 8) with a $50 non-refundable deposit.
  • Camp rates aren't published — ask the studio.
Class days & times

What's offered

Curriculum-based classes meet once a week, in person or online, and the studio publishes a weekly grid for each class length. One-hour classes (Levels 1–3) run Wednesday and Thursday at 5–6 and 6–7 pm, and Friday at 4:30–5:30 and 7–8 pm. The 1.5-hour classes (Levels 1–3 and Advance) run Wednesday 7–8:30 pm, Friday 5:30–7 pm and Sunday 2–3:30 pm. The two-hour classes run Wednesday 5–7 pm, Friday 6–8 pm and Sunday 12–2 pm. By level, Level 1 covers Drawing & Watercolor and Level 2 Pencil Shading and Prisma 2D/3D at one hour; Level 3 (Acrylic & Charcoal/Graphite) runs one to one-and-a-half hours; and the Advance and AP Art Portfolio programs and online sessions run about one-and-a-half hours. Students may enroll in a second weekly class at a discounted rate, and summer art camps run in June and July.

Summer art camps run as eight Monday–Thursday weeks across June and July, three hours a day, with a studio break over the week of July 4. Each week carries a new theme and splits into an ages 5–8 track and an ages 9-and-up track; the themes the studio announced for 2026 ran from clay and mixed media to digital art, architecture and 3D design, wearable art, portrait drawing and canvas painting. The 2026 weeks have concluded — the last two the studio posted week by week were July 20–23 and July 27–30, running AI + Smart Learning, Clay & Paper Mache, 3D Sculpture Studio, Public Speaking & Leadership, a Drawing & Painting camp and Painting Mastery Studio. Our take

Falak Art Studio teaches on a defined ladder of levels: Level 1 covers drawing and watercolor, Level 2 adds pencil shading and Prismacolor work, Level 3 moves into acrylic and charcoal/graphite, and the Advance and AP Art Portfolio programs build a portfolio that can earn high-school and college art credit. Classes meet once a week, in person or online, at a small six-to-one student-teacher ratio, and students get homework each week, so technique builds between sessions.

Because every student works at their own level and pace, the studio takes in a range from a young beginner up through a committed teen preparing an AP portfolio, and it encourages students to enter local, state, and national art contests. There is an adult oil-and-acrylic track where students paint their own subjects at their own pace, plus summer art camps in June and July. The weekly homework is what tells you whether it fits: this is an ongoing class a child stays with, not a casual afternoon.

Local Tips

Falak Art Studio is at 115 West Sandy Lake Road, Suite 400, in Coppell — a fixed studio a short drive south of Southlake, with in-person and online classes. A few practical notes:

  • Enrollment and the week-to-week schedule run through the studio's own system rather than a posted timetable, so you sign up and see open class days and times there.
  • The studio publishes a full fee chart, so you can work out the cost before you call: tuition is set by class length and billed monthly, with an annual supply fee for in-person students. Paying further ahead is cheaper at every step — quarterly, semi-annual, then annual, which drops the supply fee entirely — and there are further discounts for paying by cash or check and for siblings.
  • If your child misses a class, one make-up class is allowed each month — plan it in the same week on a different day.

Birthday art parties are a separate offering, booked with a deposit.

Credentials

Falak Art Studio was founded by Nisha Shah, who holds a Master's degree from Nirmala Niketan College in Mumbai and worked as a fine artist, illustrator, and fashion and accessory designer before moving to Dallas in 2002. She teaches drawing and painting across mediums — Prismacolor 2D and 3D, acrylic, graphite and charcoal, watercolor, and mixed media — and continues advanced study, including a watercolor and egg-tempera workshop with painter Stan Miller. She also founded PAINT A HOPE, a community art nonprofit supported by the studio.
