  • Hot Shots (Tiny Novice Show Team, Southlake) is $155 at registration and $155/month from September through March.
  • Champions in Training (Half-Year Novice) is $195 at registration and $195/month for three further months.

Rec tumbling is open-enrollment and age/level-graded (Tots 3–4, Youth Intro 5–8, Intro Tumble 9+, Levels 1–6, Standing Fulls; roughly 60–70 minutes, free trial). All Star Elite, Prep and Novice competition teams are placed by evaluation, with Prep and Novice running an 11-month season.

Schedule

Rec tumbling is open-enrollment and age/level-graded (Tots 3–4, Youth Intro 5–8, Intro Tumble 9+, Levels 1–6, Standing Fulls; roughly 60–70 minutes, free trial). All Star Elite, Prep and Novice competition teams are placed by evaluation, with Prep and Novice running an 11-month season.

Three lower-commitment entry programs run alongside them at the Southlake gym:

  • Champions in Training — a Half-Year Novice team for athletes born 2014–2020 with no tryout and no tumbling requirement, meeting Fridays 5:15–6:45 PM for a four-month mid-August-to-December season and competing twice locally for judges' ratings only.
  • Hot Shots — the Tiny Novice show team for birth years 2019–2022, Fridays 5:15–6:15 PM across a full August-to-April season with three exhibitions from December.
  • Blast CheerABILITIES — the inclusive co-ed Special Needs All Star team, open to all ages, practising Saturdays 9:00–10:15 AM from late August through mid-April with four performances between December and April.

A Strength & Conditioning class runs Mondays 6–7 PM, and private lessons are available. Registration runs through the parent portal.

Our take

Champion Cheer is an All Star cheer gym first: it fields Elite, Prep, and Novice competition teams that place athletes through evaluation clinics and run on an 11-month season. But the same Southlake gym also runs recreational tumbling for kids who aren't on any team — from a Tots class at age 3 through leveled classes up to Standing Fulls, each starting with a free trial.

What sets it apart for a lot of families is CheerAbilities: a co-ed Special Needs All Star team, Champion Cheer Blast, for athletes with an intellectual or physical disability. Whether your child is chasing a competitive season or just wants to learn a back handspring, the range here is genuine, and the gym is explicit that it values every athlete regardless of age or skill level.

Local Tips

The gym is on Commerce Street in Southlake. A few practical things from its own policies:

  • Recreational classes come with a free trial you book through the front desk.
  • The parking lot gets crowded at peak class times, and the gym asks parents to walk younger kids to and from the car.
  • If you sign up for private lessons, drop the monthly Private Lesson Membership before the 15th of the month to avoid the next month's charge.
Credentials

Champion Cheer was founded in 1997. It is owned by Jennifer Graham (founder and owner) and James Johnson (owner and coach), with a coaching staff the gym describes as award-winning choreographers. Individual coach bios and certifications aren't published on the site.
