$70 - $450

  • Monthly tuition scales with weekly class hours (2026-27 published rates): $70 for a half-hour a week, $96 for one hour, $158 for two, $221 for three, and $285 for four hours, with each additional hour +$63, capped at $450 per dancer or $575 per family per month.
  • Tuition is drafted monthly and a card on file is required.
  • Registration is $50 for a returning student and $60 for a new one ($35/$40 per additional sibling), plus a late fee the studio states two ways — its price list says $35, its studio guide says $30 a month until the account is current.
  • Performing classes add a per-class costume fee (about $99 plus tax, drafted 15 November 2026, split with the balance in mid-January if a dancer takes three or more costumed classes) and a per-dancer performance fee (about $95, drafted 15 January 2027); technique-only classes (Leaps & Turns, Tumbling, Acro, Drill Team Prep) do not perform in the Spring Showcase and carry no costume fee.
  • Drop-in rates are $15 (30 minutes), $20 (45 minutes), $30 (one hour), and $40 (90 minutes), and an off-campus PE charge is $35 per semester.
  • The first trial class is free (one per dancer, not per style).

  • Drill-team workshops and audition clinics — for area high-school teams and college/professional dance-team preparation.

The regular season runs August through mid-June, with the fall session starting in August at both studios (fall registration open) and an annual Spring Showcase in June. The first trial class is free; registration runs through The Studio Director parent portal.

Our take

Ambition Dance Productions is a DFW dance-education and production company with two studios near Southlake — a flagship at Grapevine Town Center Plaza with seven dance rooms and a second location in Highland Village. It deliberately runs both ends of the spectrum: recreational, all-levels technique classes and a competitive company sit under one roof, so a family doesn't have to pick a lane on day one. The Young Children's Program starts at age 2 with creative-movement and combo classes, and from age 7 dancers move into leveled technique across ballet and pointe, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, tap, hip hop, musical theater, and acro and tumbling.

For dancers who want more, there's a clear path: the competitive Ambition Dance Company runs from Sparks (ages 5–9) up through the Summit Collective, which you audition for, competing at local competitions and conventions with a national trip in alternating years. On the drill-team side, the studio runs prep classes and team-specific audition clinics for area high schools. It's owned by Wendy Jenkins, and the faculty are degreed or professionally experienced dancers — a former Disney World dancer and Emmy winner among them. Every first trial class is free, so the low-risk move is to try one and see whether the room fits your dancer. If you want a tiny one-teacher boutique, this is a bigger, multi-room operation; if you want range and a real ladder from first class to competition, it's a strong fit. The regular season runs August through mid-June, with a summer session and an annual Spring Showcase in June.

Local Tips

The flagship is at Grapevine Town Center Plaza with easy Highway 114 access, and the studio marked 2026 as its tenth year. A few practical things worth knowing before you enroll:

  • The free trial is one complimentary class per dancer (not per style or per season), so pick the class you're most serious about.
  • Leveling doesn't start until age 7 — younger dancers are grouped by age rather than skill level.
  • Registration runs entirely through The Studio Director parent portal, where you set up a family account and manage everything online, and tuition is drafted monthly from a card on file.
  • Budget beyond tuition: performing classes carry a costume fee drafted in mid-November and a per-dancer performance fee in mid-January, while technique-only classes (Leaps & Turns, Tumbling, Acro, Drill Team Prep) don't perform in the Spring Showcase and skip the costume fee — ask for the full fee schedule up front.
  • Summer office hours are limited (Monday–Thursday afternoons), so reach the studio by email or the portal outside those windows.
Carroll ISD Connection

Ambition has a concrete tie to the local schools through drill team. It runs prep classes and team-specific audition clinics timed to each school's tryout calendar, and the named teams it prepares dancers for include the Southlake Carroll Emerald Belles — Carroll ISD's high-school drill team — alongside the Colleyville Heritage Panteras, Grapevine Fillies/Belles, Marcus Marquettes, and Flower Mound Rosettes. The clinics are built to run the actual audition format with coaches who know what judges reward. For a Carroll ISD family whose dancer is aiming at the Emerald Belles, that's a direct, practical pipeline a short drive away — a genuine district connection rather than a geographic one, even though the studio itself sits in Grapevine rather than in Southlake.

Credentials

Ambition Dance Productions is owned and led by Wendy Jenkins, its Executive Director/Owner, a former financial-services executive who danced competitively for thirteen years in ballet, jazz, tap, and baton twirling. The studio states that most of its teachers hold a college degree in dance or bring significant professional performance experience. Its faculty includes Angela Sellers (a former Disney World dancer and Emmy winner who directs and choreographs for touring and theme-park productions and co-owns Two4one Productions), Cara Switzer (a University of North Texas graduate with 19-plus years of teaching and directing and multiple "Best Choreography" awards), and Tina Tobias (a UNT dance graduate and Flower Mound native who has performed with Todrick Hall), among others. Instruction spans ballet and pointe, jazz, contemporary and modern, lyrical, tap, hip hop, musical theater, acro and tumbling, and drill-team technique.
