  • The one exception is the wrestling club, which the gym prices on its own Facebook page: $149 a month for youth and $99 a month for high school. That club meets at the business's Keller location on Keller Hicks Road, not in Southlake.
Evening classes Monday–Friday (roughly 5:30–8:00 pm) plus a Saturday morning session (10 am–12 pm) — the posted hours for the Southlake gym. Kids' and adults' MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and wrestling run in that evening window; the detailed class-by-class times aren't listed on the site, so confirm the current schedule and your child's class when you book.

Our take

All American MMA's Southlake gym is the newer, second location of a Keller school built around competition. What you're paying for is the coaching bench: the Southlake mats are run by national-level grapplers — Travis Clark, a BJJ black belt and seven-time wrestling All-American; Matt Lupardus, an IBJJF Master Worlds champion and 13-time Texas state wrestling champ; plus wrestling coaches carrying state and national titles of their own. If your kid is drawn to wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and wants to actually compete, this is a room that takes that seriously — the gym travels a team to IBJJF and other tournaments.

The tradeoffs are the flip side of that focus. It's a small, still-new Southlake location, so it doesn't have the packed daily schedule or the polish of a big franchise academy. Classes run evenings, roughly 5:30 to 8, Monday through Friday, plus a Saturday morning session — which fits an after-dinner routine better than a right-after-school one. And the coaching depth here skews toward grappling: the Muay Thai and boxing coaches are based at the Keller gym, so if your child specifically wants striking, ask what's actually taught in Southlake before you commit. If you want a casual, low-commitment first taste of martial arts, a program built this heavily around competition may be more than you need; if you want your kid coached by people who've won at a national level, that's exactly what's on offer.

Local Tips

The Southlake gym is on S Nolen Drive in Suite 250-B — a unit in a commercial building, so go by the suite number rather than a storefront. It shares coaches and a competition team with the original All American MMA in Keller, and the team results you'll see on the blog come out of that combined program. A few practical things to know:

  • The Southlake schedule is evenings-only (Monday–Friday from 5:30 p.m., plus Saturday morning).
  • The on-site coaching skews toward wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — the striking coaches are at the Keller location, so confirm whether Muay Thai or boxing is offered in Southlake if that's what your kid is after.
  • The gym advertises a free week trial on its Facebook and Instagram profiles — worth asking about when you book a first class.

Classes aren't listed slot-by-slot on the site, so use it to book and confirm your child's class and the current schedule.

Credentials

The Southlake mats are staffed by the gym's competition coaches. Travis Clark is a 2nd-degree BJJ black belt, a 10-time Gi/No-Gi world champion and seven-time wrestling All-American, an NASM-certified personal trainer, and a USA Wrestling Silver-certified coach. Matt Lupardus is a BJJ black belt and IBJJF Master Worlds champion (brown belt), a 13-time Texas state wrestling champion, and a USA Wrestling folkstyle national champion. The wrestling staff also includes Donavan "Little Donny" Whitted — a three-time state champion and NHSCA and Fargo national champion — and Dominic Chavez, a two-time NAIA All-American and two-time state champion. All American MMA runs as one program across its Southlake and Keller gyms; its broader roster includes additional BJJ black belts and the Muay Thai and boxing coaches based at the Keller location.
